It’s Christmas eve and I’m watching quirky films about failed suicide attempts, agoraphobia and hope. (At least one of these is a christmas-y theme. We can all pretend it’s hope I’m talking about. Yes, I have a sick sense of humor.)
Castaway on the Moon. No idea how I decided to watch it, but I loved it!

I think one of my favorite things about seeing a movie in the middle of a weekday is hearing all the senior citizens review it as the credits roll.
PS. I really loved Beginners, despite an older gentleman finding it depressing because “the marriage was a lie! I can’t believe you’re ok with that” (said to his wife, not me).

Just watched this and really really liked it. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is. I recommend it! Also it has Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson in it and I love both of them. Emma Stone does a stellar job. This ends the half-ass movie review.
There may be more movie recommendations to come as I am spending today on the couch recovering from a weekend of fun… which in large part was spent supporting the vineyards of Napa Valley. You know, just doing my part for agriculture in America.

I skipped out of work a tad early today and went to see Midnight in Paris.
So. Good. I think I may need to go back… seriously. Not only did it play on my love of Paris (which is no small thing) but it’s full of humorous homage to great artists and writers through time. I enjoyed every light-hearted minute of it. And everyone in the theatre applauded when the credits rolled, so if you don’t believe me, believe the room full of cynical New Yorkers.
Now someone take me to Paris, stat, please!
